What do wealthy people drive?

Hey [First Name],

If you had to guess, what cars do you think wealthy people drive? Mercedes? Range Rovers? Maybe even a Lamborghini? Turns out, that’s not the case.

A study by Experian Automotive looked at households making over $250,000 a year and the results might surprise you. The luxury brands most people associate with wealth like Mercedes, BMW, and Cadillac, didn’t even crack the top ten. What they found are cars known for reliability and safety.

The Top 5 Cars Driven by the Wealthy

🚘 #5 – Subaru – Safe, reliable, and built to last. I’ve owned a couple myself, and after my wife walked away from a serious accident in one, I can say that I'm a lifelong fan of Subaru.

🚘 #4 – Lexus – Wealthy people value time over money, and they don’t want to waste time dealing with frequent repairs. I think that Lexus made it on the list because it offers luxury without the maintenance headaches of a Cadillac or Range Rover.

🚘 #3 – Ford – Ford makes the list because the F-150 is one of the best-selling vehicles of all time. Not to mention, rich folks love their trucks and from what I hear they're pretty cheap and easy to maintain.

🚘 #2 – Honda – People who want to look rich buy flashy cars. People who actually are rich drive Hondas. Even Jeff Bezos (ever heard of him) drove a 1997 Honda back when he was worth $8 billion.

🚘 #1 – Toyota – The ultimate choice for people who care more about financial freedom than showing off. This is my choice for my daily driver: a 1998 Toyota Camry. It cost me $3500 5 years ago and that thing just won't quit.

The Biggest Takeaway?

Wealthy people avoid car payments. The average car payment today is around $700/month. Invest that instead and over 30 years, you will have a couple million dollars. That’s the difference between looking rich and being rich.

If you’re thinking about getting a new car, ask yourself: "Do I want a status symbol, or do I want long-term financial freedom?"

I’d love to hear from you! What car do you drive? Hit reply and let me know!

Catch you later,

"Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much" - Hellen Keller Aaron's Two Cents: My wife, the draft horse If you've ever been on a call with me, you've heard my favorite analogy about couples working together on their finances. One draft horse (think Budweiser) can pull 8,000 pounds on it's own. You would think that two horses connected together could pull 16,000 pounds. It makes sense, but it's wrong. Two draft horses that have trained together and pull in the same direction can...
